electric pioneer
24 Feb 2005 - Just got my copy of 'Gary Numan - Electric Pioneer' and couldn't put it down! (bit of sellotape stuck on the cover I guess). An excellent work indeed - as I went through it I was finding it a bit like a tick list; 'got that', 'got that' against the various singles and albums. Occasionally an 'ooh, must get that' was said, chiefly against the list of bootleg dvds etc. Now that's a pity really, as I've never bought a Numan bootleg dvd and now there's a few which tempt me. If I see one I'll bother but I'd rather stick to the official output and my own collection of tv recordings dating back to 1983 or so! Mind you to be complete the book had to mention them, and in doing so showed the passion surrounding the subject.
A great book - get one now if you haven't already!!!
I was of course delighted to be mentioned in the web section, although the web address was given as www.ashley.com instead of the more correct www.ashleyx.com/numan. Still, I'm not complaining, far from it, people can always work out what the web address should be from the description 'The Mysterious Ashley X' which I really must start to use again. Truth is, I'm not particularly mysterious, but lets keep the pretence! From now on I'm Mysterious again. No longer is my surname Nealfuller, rather it shall be 'X'. And let me say once again I have no brother Malcolm or any sisters entitled 'Madame' or anything else similarly risque.
