HMV
Hi there everyone - a great signing yesterday at HMV - I'll have a few pics on this site when I get a chance to upload them etc. Good fun, I'm sure you all got to say 'hi' to Gary and get your Jagged album done. Me as usual I spent the queue time waffling and having a laugh and then couldn't think of what to say when I got to see Gary. Typical really!
The video camera filming was a great touch beforehand - presumably HMV do this for all signings although pity it ended after only an hour or so! And did we all get a good pic of us with Gary, with table in between and the lower torso of a burly 'one item only please' bouncer? Still that's all part of it!
Great to meet people in the pub afterwards and have a drink - the social aspect is such a great part of being part of the Numan following. We don't need the alcohol, just something to drink whilst we all have a chat and catch up with things.
We all have different things happening in our lives and our luck and fortunes waver but Numanism is something we all have despite the world. I spoke with a friend who has had some personal problems and is clearly hurt by the whole process and I felt for him. At least meeting people again at the Numan event and at the concert will remind him that there's a lot of us out there who care and would support our friends. He told me of how good the lyric to 'Scanner' is, and this morning (now I can read the lyrics properly in good light) I see what he means. Numan strikes the chord. His own close family newly extended with the two girls keeps him grounded and real and in touch with what matters.
