2007 - a great year...

(1 Feb 2007)
'This is New Love' from Berserker heard in soundtrack to BBC2 Pay of Your Mortgage in 2 Years on at 8pm. Blimey! - is there someone in BBC editing or somewhere with a working knowledge of Numan tracks? After the Radio7 Dr Who bits from a week or two ago it may be so... keep on listening... (23 Jan 2007) We look forward to a great year for Numan fans. With a new album by the end of the year with any luck, and live dvds and the Jagged extended/alternate version also on it's way absolutely no-one can accuse Gary of resting on his laurels after Jagged.
And for all those of you who (like me) are Doctor Who fans you may currently be listening to the BBC7 radio version featuring the 8th Doctor Paul McGann. Interestingly enough after each 50 minute episode there's a 10 minute 'making of' and in the 2nd one on 14th January there was some Telekon audio as a background to the interviews. I even thought I heard a bit of Numan in the soundscape in the 21st January issue. Maybe Nick Briggs or someone at the BBC is a Numan fan????

Merry Christmas to all myreaders! (or is it 'browsers'?) Anyway, many felicitous greetings to you at this time of year - whatever your religion. If you don't normally celebrate at this time of year because of your faith then please store this message up until the time that you do. And if you're not religious (like the person typing this) then please have a beer and celebrate something. And if you don't drink, then.... oh my god this is getting complicated. And did I say 'god'? Look, just go and watch Doctor Who or something with Nigella in on the telly... Cheers and see you soon!

The shortest day. Irrelevant! See some more photos instead in the Living Ornaments 06 section! PS Merry Christmas from Ashley - thanks for all your support for the site - much appreciated.

See previous note re distractions! (this time blame the Evil of the Daleks play!) Should have a few new pics for the site any day soon - managed to snap a few during the excellent last night of the recent Telekon 2006 mini-tour. Stunning lightshow, stunning tracks, stunning show. There you are - as soon as Gary does a one-off nostalgic concert featuring one album from way back we immediately lapse into the very thing we used to do back then - ie mention the lightshow before the actual performance! It was amazing yes, a real homage to the Telekon lightbox sets and a magnificent effect. But it didn't distract from the performance - it enhanced it. It was an unexpected treat but as always the performance was key.
Some new images in the Living Ornaments 06 section and also... here.
Oh yes and I need to put some more pics up from the UEA Norwich concert. I must also raid my 'back catalogue' sometime and start to put some more images up - I've been taking pics since 1983 at Numan concerts so I need to boost the content on this site!

Sorry about that - got distracted. For months. Well you know how it is. Devious the Movie (see our doctorwho-devious.com site for details) takes up time. And set-building for the upcoming play (see the same site!) And children and parents and families and.... life. So are we going to get another slice of Jagged before December's Telekon Tour? Well yes if you're in Wolverhampton of course. But are we going to get the long version / remix / early stuff / extra CD version of Jagged this year? It would be great but as Gary knows, we're happy to wait! Well I am. And if you're not, then think on as to why it may not happen just yet: children and parents and families and.... life. Great excuse that. PS - some more new images in Living Ornaments 06 from back in June.

Well we can dream. Sods law though if Gary does make TOTP as he was saying that the CD single was originally a fan-release. Now it's a normal single (with a much better version on iTunes by the way) and he's said he's not trying for a chart position it would be ironic if it did make a good chart position! And just as he's cracked it and TOTP too - the bloody TOTP goes missing! Anyway - if it only gets a few viewers then TOTP isn't the showcase Gary needs anyway! My reckoning is that the iTunes download will help immensely since it's a great version of the song. More soon - and some pics too! (16 June '06) New images in Living Ornaments '06. Sorry if the site's been missing for a short while - I may have to change my host! Great decision by Gary re the single (i.e. CD version as well - as my record deck is in the loft). Also great news that the extended CD version of Jagged with perhaps 3 cds is still on course for a few months time. Excellent - if ever there was an album that needed a companion long version it is Jagged!

more images and chat from Hammersmith (1 June '06) more new images and chat (Leeds and Norwich) in Living Ornaments 06 - here and Intro section (see menu on left).
Hellos by the way to Rob and Marie (see you at the London gig) - great to hear from you! and also to Graham (Mr Tea) - you know who you are - hope to see you at the gig too!
(also 20 April - there's a good understanding interview with Gemma and Gary in today's Daily Mail (print version only I fear) Also recently the Redemption TV interview was well worth watching)
A new album and a new phase in Gary's career - this has prompted an ashleyx revamp!
For older blog-type-waffle see the VOIX section (for latest see this INTRO section) - for concert images see LIVING ORNAMENTS (navigation to be improved), for friends and photos of people with Gary you have sent me (and can continue to do so please!!) see FRIENDS, and other things go into THE CRAZIES. I will add some links back into the site again asap as well as some other new things!

And if you haven't already done so, go to the official GN Jagged Microsite at www.jagged-album.com and download the podcast or the Haunted track. Or if you want to wait 'till the album's out then don't!
cheers
speak soon (oh yes and to the chap who asked about any good pubs to meet up before the concerts in Brum and Wolves I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea being a Sussex personage. But thanks for asking and also thanks to those of you who have said hello on this site - your support is definitely well appreciated! However I can recommend the UNI bar at UEA for the Norwich event! - that's if it's the same as when I was there a zillion years ago)
