Expectation
It's still true!
I've been thinking a long time about taking loads of the older stuff off these pages - especially the descriptions of what it's like for a fan waiting for the next tour or album.
With under a week to go as I write to the next GN concert - London the Forum - I am as expectant as ever. Okay, so we know the new album won't be until next February - but the man has apparently written 16 new songs. We've already heard one of them perhaps - will he play it again? What will be the tracks this time? Will he play Tracks or Bombers, or change the set again? Will his stage clothes be the same? The lighting? The venue? You see, the questions build up as always, and the excitement mounts. There's also the joy of seeing new faces at his concerts - I know a group of people who are seeing him for the first time, and I'm sure I shall see the concert with their eyes too. Soon, these newcomers will see its not just the music, its the whole package. These newcomers are what Gary strives for.
They won't go away disappointed. During the rest of the year we are bombarded in the media with boy-bands and all-girl groups; eurovision; strolling bones ensuring their pensions; loud-mouthed one-album talents with attitude; and endless dumbing-down of our national tv and radio coverage. It therefore comes as a great relief to know that a NUMAN CONCERT is in the pipeline.
Accept no substitute!
There's always Gary Numan.
